Hey everyone, first time dog owner here and I'm struggling big time. Got a 4-month-old golden retriever named Sunny. Two issues: 1) He pees inside even right after coming back from outside walks, and 2) He absolutely REFUSES to walk on a leash - just sits down or tries to chew it. I've tried treats, praise, everything basic. Are there any smart devices or tech gadgets that actually help with training? Saw some automatic treat dispensers and GPS trackers but not sure what's worth it. SOS!

Welcome to the club! Big dogs need consistency. For potty training: get a smart camera like Furbo or Petcube to monitor when he sniffs/circles (pre-pee signals). Set alarms on your phone for every 2 hours - take him out REGARDLESS. Tech helps but nothing replaces routine. For leash: try a front-clip harness (martingale style) - gives you control without choking. There's also the 'Puppr' app with step-by-step leash training videos. Remember: golden puppies are stubborn but smart! Don't get frustrated - he's just a baby.

lol dogs are so much work. My cat just uses a litter robot - problem solved. But for leash stuff, I've seen those vibrating training collars (NOT shock ones!) that beep/vibrate to get attention. Could help redirect from chewing leash? Also maybe one of those automatic doorbells for dogs - they press button when need to go out. My friend's poodle learned it in a week. But honestly... maybe just get a cat instead? jk jk

OP - consistency is key! I swear by the 'Potty Training with Technology' method: 1) Use a Wi-Fi enabled pet door (like SureFlap) so he learns to go out himself, 2) Smart treat dispenser (Pet Tutor) rewards immediately when he pees outside - you can trigger remotely via app!, 3) For leash: try a hands-free bungee leash first to reduce tension. Also HIGH-VALUE treats only for leash time (real chicken, not kibble!). Track progress with the 'Dogo' training app. It gets better - my spaniel was a nightmare until 6 months!
