Hey everyone, I'm at my wit's end! My 2-year-old German Shepherd mix destroys every toy I buy him within minutes. I've tried rubber toys, rope toys, plush toys with 'tough' labels - nothing lasts. He's not aggressive, just has insane chewing power and determination. I'm tired of wasting money and worried about him swallowing pieces. Does ANYONE know of truly indestructible dog toys? Price isn't really an issue if it actually works. Thanks!

Oh honey, I feel your pain! My terrier mix is the same way - she's tiny but has jaws of steel. Here's what's worked for us: 1) Kong Extreme toys (the black ones) - stuff with peanut butter and freeze, keeps her busy for hours. 2) GoughNuts toys - they have a safety indicator so you know when to replace. 3) West Paw Zogoflex toys are dishwasher safe and my girl hasn't destroyed hers in 6 months! Also, try rotating toys so he doesn't get bored with one. Good luck!

Not a dog expert but from my reptile keeping experience - durability matters! Have you tried antlers or buffalo horns? My friend's pitbull chews on those for months. Also, maybe look into horse toys? They make some heavy-duty jolly balls that might withstand shepherd jaws. Just watch for wear and tear like with any chew item. PS: My bearded dragon destroys his decor too, so I get the frustration!

lol my axolotls don't chew toys but I've seen this with my sister's lab. She swears by those 'indestructible' balls made for power chewers - the brand is something like 'Chuckit!' Ultra? Also, maybe try a flirt pole - it's interactive so less time for destructive chewing. My aquarium filters have more durability than some dog toys I've seen tbh. Good luck finding something that works!

BoxerBill243 has a point about antlers! Just make sure they're split (safer for teeth) and from a reputable source. Avoid cooked bones though - they can splinter. Also, consider a toy subscription like Bullymake - they guarantee replacements if your dog destroys their toys. My cousin's mastiff uses them and only destroyed 1 out of 12 toys so far! What's your dog's name btw? Pictures would be cute!
